SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team fell to their second straight nationally ranked opponent, as the Greyhounds fell to No. 10 Saint Leo University 21-5, in non-conference action, Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Leo jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before
Annie Ettenhofer put Assumption on the board. The Lions took over from there, as they scored eight-straight to go up 10-1, before
Emily Abendroth scored for the Greyhounds. The hosts would finish off the first half on a 5-0 run to take a 15-2 lead into the intermission.
Aleigh Thompson opened the scoring for the Blue and White in the second half, but Saint Leo answered with four-consecutive tallies to extend their advantage to 19-3 through three quarters.
Ava MacDonald and Thompson found the back of the cage in the fourth quarter, but Assumption would fall 21-4.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Madeleine Estes and Grace Cashman combined to make two stops
- Saint Leo outshot Assumption 31-17, while also winning 20-of-26 draw controls.
- The Greyhounds were a perfect 9-for-9 on clears, while the Lions were 17-of-19.
- Assumption still leads the all-time series 3-1.
