WORCESTER, Mass. – Annie Ettenhofer found
Mallory Bartlett with 3.8 seconds left in regulation, as the Assumption University women's lacrosse team edged Robert Wesleyan University 11-10 in non-conference action, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Roberts Wesleyan opened the scoring at the 12:39 marker of the first quarter, Assumption responded with a 3-0 run to close out the first quarter, with
Aleigh Thompson,
Kyle Johnston, and
Margaret Loeber finding the back of the cage for the hosts. Thompson and
Emily Abendroth scored to begin the second quarter, extending the Greyhounds' advantage to 5-1. The Redhawks answered at the 4:51 marker, but Johnston would strike once again before halftime, expanding the hosts' advantage to 6-2.
Coming out of the intermission, RWU began the third on a 4-0 run and seven of nine goals in the quarter to go up 9-8.
Mallory Bartlett started the fourth quarter by tying the game at 9-9, before Roberts Wesleyan regained a one-goal advantage (10-9). The Greyhounds would not go away, as Annie Ettenhoffer tied the game with 5:12 left in regulation, but she would come up big, as she found a cutting Bartlett in the final four seconds, giving the Blue and White an 11-10 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman made five saves in the win.
- Kyle Johnston led the way for the Greyhounds with three goals and one assist, while Aleigh Thompson added three scores.
- Assumption outshot Roberts Wesleyan 26-20, while also winning 14-of-22 draw controls.
- The Greyhounds went 13-for-19 on clearing attempts, while the Redhawks were 15-for-20.
- Assumption still leads the all-time series 4-1
