WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team erupted for five goals in the second period, as they cruised to a 7-0 shutout win over Stonehill College in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action at the Worcester Ice Center.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as
Jodie Gratton scored at 9:02 of the first period. The game would head into the second period with the hosts leading 1-0, but the Greyhounds would break the game open in the middle period, scoring five goals in the frame.
Rachel Agerter scored a 1:21 on the power play, before Kaityln Cielo lit the lamp just over a minute later, also on the skater advantage.
Alexa Hanrahan made it 4-0 Assumption with her tally at 13:26, but three minutes later,
Caroline Lilley scored twice, pushing the Hounds' margin on the scoreboard to 6-0.
The scoring slowed in the third period, as
Mary McKiernan scored at 14:13, making the final score 7-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 40 saves for the clean sheet.
- Assumption outshot Stonehill 55-40, while also winning 30-of-52 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were a perfect 2-for-2 on the power play, while the Skyhawks were scoreless on two attempts.
- Stonehill still leads the all-time series 7-5-1.
