WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University women's soccer team scored a late goal to record a 1-1 tie against the University of Bridgeport, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out firing, as they outshot the opposition 14-3, while having a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. Despite controlling the action for the opening 45 minutes, the game would head into halftime tied at 0-0.
Bridgeport got on the scoreboard early in the second half, as Pia-Wisnewski crossed one into the box, where Luiza Macedo drove in the game's first tally. Assumption tie the game in the 81
st minute, as Ava Nomandin scored on a penalty kick.
Rachael Geniuch nearly put the Hounds on top in the 88
th minute, but Angelina Griva made a finger-tip diving save, keeping the game tied at 1-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kaylin Hebert recorded four saves for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Bridgeport 28-8, while also recording 12 corners to just three for the Purple Knights.
- The Blue and White now leads the all-time series 2-1-1.
