NEW BEDFORD, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team fell 6-3 to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a non-conference matchup, Tuesday evening at Hetland Arena.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
UMass Dartmouth was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as Nolan Wutzke scored off the assists from Brennen Pecararo and Alex Pagliari at 4:24 of the opening period.
Jonathan Surrette scored with three minutes left in the period, as he had a breakaway and beat the UMass netminder bar down on the blocker side.
The Corsairs regained the lead with a power play goal in the opening 90 seconds of the middle frame. Wutzke doubled the Blue and Gold lead at 13:22, with his second goal of the game. The two-goal deficit would only last over a minute, as
Daniel Lemanski scored on the power play, with
Jake Russell picking up the helper on the play.
In the third period, UMD would continue to add to their lead late in the third period, as they got a power play goal from Tyler Stewart and even-strength tallies from Alex Walker and Blake Kashark.
Kyle LoNigro halted the Corsairs' run of goals, as he struck with under five seconds remaining in regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Brayden Ingram recorded 24 saves in his collegiate debut.
- Assumption outshot UMass Dartmouth 39-30, while also winning 42-of-81 faceoffs.
- Both teams scored on the power play, as the Corsairs were 2-for-4, while the Greyhounds went 1-for-3.
- UMass Dartmouth leads the all-time series 44-18-3.
