SPRINGFIELD, Mass.– Elle Murray recorded a career-high four goals, as the Assumption University field hockey team rolled to a 7-1 Northeast 10 Conference win against American International College, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, as
Elle Murray scored off the feed by
Julia Carbone at the 1:26 marker of the first quarter. The Greyhounds extended their lead in the second quarter, as
Giada Broccoli and
Khianna Jackson found the back of the cage, making it 3-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Hounds pushed their advantage to 5-0 following goals from Murray and
Daisy Stone, 27 seconds apart. American International College eventually broke through the daunting AU defense and scored with 17 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
Elle Murray continued to carry the hot stick, as she potted two more goals in the first 90 seconds of the fourth quarter.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Paige Gillette only needed to make three stops to pick up her fifth win of the year.
- Assumption outshot AIC 37-5, while also having three of the eight corners.
- The Greyhounds have now outscored their opponents 32-4 over their last five games, while also outshooting them 182-28.
- Assumption now leads the all-time series, 29-9, including 12-straight.
