WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University field hockey team scored three first-half goals, as the Greyhounds soared past Bentley University 3-1 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Wednesday evening at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as
Elle Murray scored off a penalty corner halfway through the opening frame, with
Daisy Stone picking up the assist on the play. The Greyhounds continued to play with their swarming offense, as they outshot Bentley 4-2 in the quarter, while also drawing six fouls by the Falcons. The Hounds doubled their lead in the opening two minutes of the second, as Stone roofed the pass by
Mieke Rentsch. The Blue and White would add one more score before the end of the half, as
Marta Brzoska used her speed to get around the visitors' back line, pushing the lead to 3-0.
The game would remain 3-0 in favor of the hosts until the final five minutes of the contest, when a shot by Madeline Krepelka found its way through the Assumption back line.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Paige Gillette picked up three saves for her sixth win of the year.
- Assumption outshot Bentley 14-8, while maintaining a 6-4 advantage in penalty corners.
- Daisy Stone has now recorded a goal and an assist in her last three games (four goals, three assists).
- Elle Murray pushed her goal streak to four games, as she has not scored seven goals over that stretch.
- Bentley still leads the all-time series 49-19-1.
