WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team completed the weekend sweep of Long Island University, as
Alexa Hanrahan scored the game-winning goal 11 seconds into overtime, giving the Greyhounds a 2-1 win in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption controlled the pace of play in the first period, as they outshot LIU 9-6, while also winning 15-of-22 faceoffs.
Alexa Hanrahan put the Hounds on top with 3:33 remaining in the first period, as she scored with a backhanded shot that just trickled past the Sharks' netminder. The Greyhounds would carry their 1-0 lead into the final minute of regulation, as with 15 seconds remaining, LIU pulled their goalie with an offensive zone faceoff. Crosby Wildfong won the draw back to Drew Dyczkowski, who beat
Jadyn Weiser to the near post.
The game would head into overtime, but it would not last long, as Hanrahan scored just 11 seconds into the extra period, giving the Blue and White another overtime win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 24 saves in the win.
- LIU outshot Assumption 25-24, while the Greyhounds won 34-of-55 faceoffs.
- The Hounds were the only team to have a power play, but they were unable to score on it.
- Assumption has now tied a program record with a four-game unbeaten streak.
- LIU still leads the all-time series 7-2-1.
