WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team allowed two unanswered goals as they fell to Long Island University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Saturday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Alexa Hanrahan buried the loose puck following a
Rachel Agerter scoring chance, putting the Greyhounds 1-0 on the power play. Long Island University would have to wait until the final two minutes of the second period to get on the board, as Sarah Rourke tapped in a loose puck by the near post. The game would head into the third period tied at 1-1, but LIU would record the go-ahead goal at the 11:01 marker, as Maggie Culp scored on a four-on-four. Assumption pulled their goalie for the final 1:13 of regulation but could not find the equalizer and would fall 2-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Carissa Mudrak logged 29 saves in the crease for Assumption.
- LIU outshot Assumption 31-23, while the Greyhounds won 38 of 62 faceoffs.
- Both sides scored on the power play, as Assumption was 1-for-5, while the Sharks were 1-of-4.
