WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team dropped their third-straight game, as the Greyhounds fell to Long Island University, 3-1 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
LIU started fast, as they potted a pair of power-play goals in the opening 15 minutes of the contest to go up 2-0 after the first period. The Sharks added to their lead early in the second period, as Maggie Culp tipped in a loose puck at the five-minute mark. Assumption would not go quietly in the third period, as
Jenna Chaplain put the Greyhounds on the board at the 16:10 marker, as she scored off of a
Lauryn Broecker rebounded shot. The Hounds continued to press but could not find an equalizer and fell 3-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 16 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- LIU outshot Assumption 19-18, while also winning 19-of-34 faceoffs.
- The Sharks went 2-for-6 on the power play, while the Greyhounds were scoreless on two attempts.
- LIU leads the all-time series 6-0-1.
