WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's soccer team continued their strong season opening with a commanding 4-1 victory over D'Youville University on Sunday afternoon, completing a perfect 2-0 weekend homestand.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half was scoreless, with chances heavily favoring Assumption. The Hounds took control early in the second half, with
Ashley Wenzel scoring the first goal in the 56th minute, assisted by
Haley Brown. Wenzel continued to shine, setting up
Haleigh Ward just five minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0. Wenzel netted her second goal of the match in the 64th minute with an assist from
Rachael Geniuch.
D'Youville managed to pull one back in the 73rd minute; Lily Gallagher sliced in a corner kick directly for the Saint's lone goal. Assumption sealed the win with a goal from
Ava Normandin in the 87th minute, assisted by
Rose Connolly.

- Wenzel led with five points on the day, and leads the team with six on the season (2G, 2A).
