PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Assumption University women's soccer team kept their undefeated streak alive with a decisive 6-2 win over Chestnut Hill College in their first road game of the season, improving their record to 3-0-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption jumped out to an early lead, with
Delaney Farinha scoring the first goal in the 23rd minute, assisted by
Haleigh Ward. Ward then doubled the lead in the 26th minute with her second goal of the match. Chestnut Hill responded with a goal by Lauren Sullivan in the 36th minute, but Assumption maintained a 2-1 lead at halftime.
The Greyhounds pulled away in the second half with goals from Farinha and Ward, who tallied their second of the game.
New names emerged on the scorecard as well.
Reagan Davis scored her first career goal in the 70th minute after playing defense the past three seasons for the Hounds.
Brooke Zanella, a freshman midfielder, also scored the first goal of her young collegiate career in the 84th minute.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Frida Larsson logged three saves to earn the save.
- Haleigh Ward's team-leading 10 points (4G, 2A) matches the highest individual point total from the 2023 season.
- The six goals are the most Assumption has scored since September 1, 2018, when they netted six against Nyack.
- Assumption outshot Chestnut Hill 22-11, including a 17-5 edge in shots on goal.
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series against Chestnut Hill, 2-0-0.
