FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team fell to Sacred Heart University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Saturday evening at the Martire Family Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption began the game firing, as they outshot Sacred Heart 12-5 in the opening 20 minutes despite the Pioneers winning 12 of 17 draws. In the second period, the shots and faceoffs balanced out, as both sides fired 11 shots on target.
Sacred Heart opened up the scoring three minutes into the third period, as Isabella Chaput scored from the slot. Despite the late push by the Greyhounds, they would fall 1-0.

- Carissa Mudrak recorded 25 saves in the contest.
- Assumption outshot Sacred Heart 36-26, winning 37 of 67 faceoffs.
- The Pioneers went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Assumption was 0-for-5.
