WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire with a decisive 74-34 non-conference win over Queens College Saturday afternoon in Laska Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption controlled the offense from the start, starting up 7-0 and then conceding two quick baskets from the Knights. The Hounds then used a 12-0 run to close the quarter with dominating defense, leading 19-4 after one.
Kaijhe Hall led the way with six points after the opening ten minutes.
It was more of the same in the second stint. However, Queens made a small run to get within 11 after a Jordis Tautalatasi jump dropped in. Assumption stretched it out to 32-11 after
Molly Stokes continued her strong offensive season, knocking down the three ball. Assumption controlled the remainder of the half and led 41-15 going into the break, as they held the Knights to 36.4 percent shooting from the field in the period.
The second half was similar as they extended the lead to 37 at certain points. The Greyhounds were extremely efficient in the third quarter, shooting 72.7 percent from the field while scoring 18 points. Assumption only allowed six made field goals in the second half, pushing the Hounds to a huge 40 points win over the Knights from Queens College, 74-34.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Molly Stokes led the way in the scoring column with a game-high 17 points, while Kajihe Hall (14) and Emma Dahl (10) also scored double-digit points.
- Assumption outrebounded Queens 33-27 while recording a season-high 29 assists.
- In four home games this season, Assumption is defeating the opposition by an average of 30.25 points (288-167)
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series 3-2.
