THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Senior Meghan Sullivan (Worcester, Mass. / Notre Dame Academy) had a goal and an assist in the Hounds' 3-0 victory over Saint Michael's on wet and wild senior day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Just 3:04 into the game, freshman Kristen McCarthy (Danvers, Mass. / Danvers) scored on a cross from Sullivan to take the lead 1-0.

- Despite a short power outage at the stadium which delayed play for just over five minutes, the Assumption offense kept rolling. Sullivan pushed lead to 2-0 in the 11thminute, as she tipped in a cross from teammate Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn./ Haddam-Killingworth).

- Sheahan scored the last goal of the game in the 25th minute of play when she netted a loose rebound past Purple Knight goaltender Abigail Bowie.

- With 29 minutes left in regulation, St. Michael's forward Carolyn Avery had an opportunity to score on a break away but Hound goalie Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick, Mass. / Southwick Tolland Regional) made a diving save to keep her shutout.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Bodzinski made three saves in the shutout, while Bowie made eight stop as she took the loss.

- The Hounds outshot the Purple Knights 16-5, while Saint Michael's edged Assumption in corners 5-3.

UP NEXT:

- Next week the Hounds host Adelphi on Tuesday at 7 pm for a Northeast-10 Conference match up.
