THE BASICS:

- The Lead: The Assumption College field hockey team scored just 25 seconds in and never looked back as the Hounds came away with the 5-1 non-conference win over Mercy College in the 2015 home opener. Five different players scored for the Hounds as the hosts outshot the Mavericks by a 47-1 margin.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- The Hounds outshot the Mavericks by a 33-0 margin in the first half alone as Julia Amell finished with 25 saves for Mercy. Freshman Sarah Bodzinski (Southwick, Mass./Southwick Tolland Regional) picked up her first collegiate win as she faced just one shot.

- Assumption held a 14-1 advantage in penalty corners, including converting one into a goal early in the first half. The Hounds had seven chances in each half.

- While five different Hounds scored in the game, senior Sarah Frahm (Salem, N.H./Salem) picked up a pair of assists in the game. Junior Andrea Koslowski (Warren, Mass./Quaboag Regional) added one goal and one assist in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Assumption jumped on the board just 25 seconds into the game as junior Meghan Sullivan (Worcester, Mass./Notre Dame Academy) gave the Hounds a 1-0 lead. The lead extended to 2-0 just over 10 minutes into the game as Koslowski found senior Kiley Colucci (Gloucester, R.I./St. Mary Academy) for her second goal in as many games.

- Sophomore Mariah Peck (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) scored her first collegiate goal as she poked in a ball out of a scrum in front of the net. Sophomore Allison Sheahan (Higganum, Conn./Haddam Killingworth) closed out the scoring at the 47:10 mark as she put home her own rebound.

- Alicia Williams scored on a shot from the top of the circle for Mercy with just under 30 minutes left in the game.
