GARDEN CITY, N.Y.—The Assumption University baseball team fell in game one but rebounded to earn a Saturday split at Adelphi University in Northeast 10 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Adelphi University 5, Assumption University 1
Game one started with a pitcher's duel, as neither team could score a run until the bottom of the fifth, when Adelphi plated three runs. Assumption got on the board at the top of the sixth as
James McDermott hit a solo home run to left field.
The Panthers plated two more runs to go up 5-1, where they would go on to win by that score.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 14, Adelphi University 3
Assumption jumped on the board early in game two, as
Christopher Manzo drove in a pair with a double to center. The Greyhounds extended their lead in the second, as
Patrick McManus scored on a fielder's choice.
Nick Paharik doubled the Blue and White lead in the third, as he had a bases-clearing double.
After Adelphi scored three runs in the third, Assumption plated four runs in the fourth, which was capped off by a
Will Panza grand slam to right field. The Greyhounds capped off the scoring in the top of the fifth, as they scored two runs on an error by the Panthers' second baseman.
