WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 11 West Chester University of Pennsylvania 17-7 in non-conference action, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
West Chester wasted no time in the opening quarter to assert themselves. They struck three times in the first two and a half minutes to surge ahead. Assumption responded well, with
Annie Ettenhofer scoring back-to-back goals to get the Greyhounds within reach. What followed was a four-goal run by the Golden Rams to close out the first quarter, leading 7-2. Their run continued with the first two goals of the second quarter as well.
Aleigh Thompson and
Kyle Johnston each found the back of the cage in the second quarter for Assumption. At halftime, the score was 13-4 in favor of the visitors.
There was no slowing down for West Chester. The hounds were outscored 10-3 in the second half. Assumption's goals came with the Greyhounds a woman-up on the field;
Emily Abendroth scored, and Johnston tacked on two more to complete her hat trick.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman made 13 saves.
- Kyle Johnston led the offense with three goals and one assist, bringing her point total to 17 on the season.
