WALTHAM, Mass. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team could not overcome a halftime deficit and would fall to Bentley University 13-9 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bentley started strong, as they scored the first two goals of the contest in the opening seven minutes. Assumption responded with
Katelynn Johnston and
Molly Weiand netting back-to-back tallies to tie the game. The Falcons closed out the first quarter with two straight goals to go up 4-2. After the hosts scored the first goal of the second, the Greyhounds would get back within one (5-4) after strikes from Weiand and Johnston. Bentley started to pull away in the second part of the first half, as they scored three straight to go up 8-4 heading into the intermission.
The third quarter was all Bentley, as they outscored Assumption 4-1 in the frame, with the Hounds' only tally coming from
Kyle Johnston with less than 4.0 seconds on the clock. In the fourth quarter, the Greyhounds attempted a comeback, where

Katelynn Johnston, and
Mallory Bartlett scored, but the Blue and White would fall 13-9.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan recorded 11 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Bentley outshot Assumption 31-26 while also winning 13-of-25 draw controls.
- The Greyhounds had 11 caused turnovers, while the Falcons had six.
- Bentley still leads the all-time series 29-5.
