WORCESTER, Mass. —The No. 22 nationally ranked Assumption University men's basketball team rallied from down 11 points in the second half to top Southern New Hampshire University 78-7 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon inside Andrew Laska Gymnasium.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption came out of the gates fast, as they raced out to a 10-0 lead over the opening 1:42 of the contest. Southern New Hampshire would chip away at the deficit and would eventually tie the game at 13-13. The two teams would continue to trade baskets down the stretch, and the Penmen would carry a 38-37 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the intermission, SNHU continued to take it to the Greyhounds, expanding their lead to 11 points (53-42) with 12:56 left in regulation. Following a three-pointer by TJ Morris, pushing the Penmen advantage to 11 points, the Hounds responded with a quick 9-0 run, with
Hudson Geremia and
Daouda Dembele draining three pointers, cutting the deficit to two points (53-51). Assumption flipped the script in the game with Southern New Hampshire leading 60-55, as they went on a 23-11 run to close out the game, with
Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton leading the way with 15 points, and the defense forced four Penmen turnovers to pull off a 78-71 win.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton had a game-high 23 points, with 19 points coming in the second half.
- Lenny Tangishaka filled the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, four steals, and four blocks.
- Southern New Hampshire outrebounded Assumption 53-35, while outscoring the hosts 40-26 in the paint.
- The Greyhounds forced 19 turnovers, while only turning the ball over six times.
- Southern New Hampshire leads the all-time series 32-15.
