WORCESTER, Mass.— Jake DiNapoli scored twice as the Assumption University men's ice hockey team topped Southern New Hampshire University 3-1 in Northeast 10 Conference action Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period, where Assumption outshot Southern New Hampshire 20-11, the Greyhounds got on the board 5:17 into the middle frame.
Jake DiNapoli scored on the power play, with
Leo Piandes and
Ryan Decker picking up the apples on the play. The Hounds' lead would double just past the halfway mark of the third period, as
Nick Fall found the back of the net with
David Lawler and
Brett Cunningham recording the assists on the tally.
After SNHU got on the board with a power play goal, with their netminder pulled, DiNapoli sealed the game with a shorthanded goal with 1:19 left in regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Salvatore logged 42 saves in the win.
- Assumption outshot Southern New Hampshire 51-43, while winning the battle at the dot (48-of-74).
- Each team scored while on the man-advantage, as Assumption was 1-for-6 and SNHU was 1-for-8
- Assumption now leads all-time series 44-43-5.
