DOBBS FERRY, N.Y.– The No. 8 nationally ranked Assumption University field hockey team closed out the regular season with a 6-0 win at Mercy University in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first quarter, the offense opened up in the second quarter, as
Daisy Stone and
Marta Brzoska scored, giving Assumption a 2-0 lead entering halftime. The Greyhounds came out of the second half and saw their offense explode, as
Chloe Kaeller, Stone, and
Nova Rijks all scored, extending the lead to 6-0. In the fourth quarter, Assumption would not let up, as they outshot Mercy 11-0 in the frame and went on to capture a 6-0 road win.

- Paige Gillette made two stops for her third straight shutout.
- Assumption outshot Mercy 40-2, while having all 11 corners
- With the win today, the Greyhounds have earned at least a share of the last five regular-season championships.
