NEW ORLEANS – The United States Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Academic Awards on Thursday afternoon.
USTFCCCA AWARDS
The Greyhounds had two individuals recognized as
Joseph Carroll (Management) and
Anthony Manna (Criminology), while the women's team earned the team award.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, and compile a team score at their regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
To qualify for individual All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meets, among other qualifications.
Carroll finished 20
th overall at the NCAA Division II East Regional out at the Matt St. James Cross Country Trails just north of the Roberts Wesleyan campus. His 32:17.4 time led the charge to a fifth-place finish at the regional level. Manna took 44th overall, finishing the 10K course in 33:16.0.
The Assumption University women's cross country team earned the honor as a team for the second time in three years, as the
Whitney Cyr squad supported a 3.14 GPA.
