WALTHAM, Mass. – The Assumption University women's volleyball team dropped their Northeast-10 Conference opening match, 3-0, to Bentley University Tuesday evening at the Dana Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Reigning East Regional Champions Falcons started fast, racing to a 4-1 early advantage. The Greyhounds bounced back to tie the opening set at 5-5. With the score tied at 10-10, Bentley went on a 5-0 run to go up 15-10. Assumption battled with the hosts and would knot the first setup at 18-18, following a kill from
Carly Goodhue. Bentley would finish strong, as they scored seven of the final eight points to take the opening set 25-19.
The two teams traded the first few points in the second set, but the Falcons held a slight edge. Assumption tied Bentley at 18-18 for the second consecutive set, but the hosts went on a late run and took the second set 25-21.
In the third set, the Hounds would jump out to an early advantage, but it was short-lived, as when the Greyhounds led 6-5, the Falcons would five of six points before slowly pulling away for a 25-16 third set victory.
