WORCESTER, Mass. –
Heather Ajakie scored once in regulation and once in the shootout to capture an extra point as the Assumption University women's ice hockey team over Stonehill College following a 2-2 tie in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first and second period,
Heather Ajakie opened the third period with her fourth goal of her freshman campaign at the 1:35 marker. Stonehill responded immediately to tie the game 18 seconds later. At 8:16, the Skyhawks pulled out front, as Kathryn Karo scored on the power play.
Jenna Chaplain tied the game at 11:52 as she redirected the point shot by
Kaitlyn Cielo.
After a scoreless overtime, the game would head to a best-of-three shootout to decide a winner. Ajakie was the only player to beat a netminder, giving the Greyhounds the extra conference point.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Carissa Mudrak logged 36 saves in the win for the Hounds.
- Assumption outshot Stonehill 41-38, while the visitors won 36-of-68 faceoffs.
- Both sides had two powerplays, but the Skyhawks were the only team to score on the advantage, going 1-for-2.
- The Greyhounds have recorded at least one point in the last six conference contests.
- Stonehill is now 5-3 all-time against Assumption.
