HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption started fast, as Daouda Dembele led the charge for the Greyhounds with four points and a steal, leading to a 6-2 lead over the opening 2:26. Still, Baril Mawo answered immediately as he flushed home the feed from Myles Alcindor. The Hounds saw their largest lead of the first half come with 5:36 remaining in the opening frame, as Lenny Tangishaka picked off the pass, went coast-to-coast, and laid in the basket, putting Assumption up eight (30-22). The hosts chipped away at the Assumption deficit down the stretch and got within two points (34-32), but Njavan Stewart hit a three-pointer as time expired, giving the Greyhounds a five-point spread (39-34) at the break.

Assumption grabbed their first double-digit lead early in the second half, as Tayshawn Cunningham-Pemberton had a putback layup, putting the Hounds up 11 (48-37). Noah Payne joined in on the scoring, as his jumper at 14:34 pushed the Blue and White lead up to 14 (51-37). Post would slowly chip away at the deficit and get within four (52-48), forcing a timeout by Scott Faucher at 11:01. The Eagles would eventually regain the lead following a Bol Akot jumper at 9:47 (53-52). The game continued to be a back-and-forth affair as the two teams traded leads, with the hosts holding a 70-69 lead with 38 seconds remaining in regulation. Daouda Dembele regained the lead for the Hounds with a back-down hook shot with 22 seconds. The Greyhounds' defense kept the lead alive for the Blue and White, as Payne recorded a block and Mawo recorded a steal before Tangishaka knocked down a pair of free throws.
