WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team had three difference goal scorers as the Greyhounds defeated Saint Anselm College, 3-1 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period, Assumption would have to wait until the later portion of the second period to get on the scoreboard.
Caroline Lilley put the Hounds on the scoreboard at 17:13 of the middle frame.
Heather Ajakie doubled the Greyhounds' lead 17 seconds into the third as she connected on the powerplay. Two minutes later,
Kiersten Browning found the back of the net to give the hosts an insurance goal, pushing the Assumption lead to 3-0. Saint Anselm got on the scoreboard at the 5:21 mark, but it would not be enough, as the Greyhounds would pick up their first win over the Hawks.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 42 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption won 31-of-60 faceoffs, while Saint Anselm outshot the Greyhounds 43-27.
- The Hounds struck once on the powerplay (1-for-6), while the Hawks were scoreless on five attempts.
- Saint Anselm now leads the all-time series 4-1-1.
