HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption was on the front foot early, firing in three shots in the first twenty minutes of action.
Haleigh Ward's deflected shot caused a corner, where
Katherine Laboissonniere tried to crash in and shoot, but her effort was saved. The rest of the first half was back and forth, with minor possession being controlled. At the break, the Falcons and Greyhounds were in a deadlock.
In the second half, the Hounds had their most significant chance on the night as
Lila Kalooski's extra effort resulted in a penalty shot for the Hounds, which
Maya Demello stepped up to take, but Claire Ewen saved it.
Delaney Farinha,
Haley Brown, and Ward continued to fire shots at Ewen, but nothing was hitting the back of the net. It was all action forward for the Hounds in the last fifteen minutes, as they controlled the game's flow and tried to unlock something in the final third. Assumption had one last chance at 89:13 through a corner, but it was cleared, and the game was over. The Greyhounds and the Falcons battled to another 0-0.
