SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 7 seeded Assumption University women's lacrosse season comes to a close as the Greyhounds fell to No. 2 Le Moyne College 17-7 in the Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinals Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The hosts started fast and raced out to an early 3-0 lead. The Greyhounds responded with three-straight goals, with
Katelynn Johnston (twice) and
Isabelle Edwards getting on the scoresheet. After the Dolphins took a 4-3 advantage with 98 seconds remaining in the first quarter,
Isabella Jackson tied the game with her fourth goal of the year with 21 seconds on the clock.
Le Moyne came into the second quarter on fire, as they outscored Assumption 6-1 in the frame, with the lone Greyhounds' tally coming from
Jenna Joseph, and would head into halftime up 10-5. The host continued to leave their foot on the gas, pushing their advantage to 14-6 through 45 minutes, with
Molly Weiand scoring the lone goal for the Blue and White.
In the fourth, the Dolphins pulled away, scoring three more times and still limiting Assumption to one goal in the frame, and moving on to the NE10 Semifinals following a 17-7 win over the Greyhounds.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan had seven saves in net for the Hounds.
- Assumption was outshot 31-20, while both sides had 13 draw controls.
- The Dolphins won the ground ball battle (25-17), while they caused ten turnovers, while the Greyhounds had four.
- Caroline O'Connell had a game-high six ground balls.
