WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's tennis team was blanked by Adelphi, 7-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the setback, the Greyhounds got a notable effort from junior Brady Ryan (Lynn, Mass.). After dropping the No. 1 doubles match with senior Max Francis (West Barnstable, Mass.) by a 6-4 decision, Ryan took Gabriel Belestero the distance at No. 2 singles until ultimately falling in three marathon sets. Belestero captured the match by scores of 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, and 10-4.
Assumption (2-3, NE10 0-3) will next travel to face Merrimack at Austin Prep in Reading on Sunday at 4 p.m.
