THE BASICS
Score: No. 10 Assumption University 72, Georgian Court University 29
Records: Greyhounds (11-0, 5-0 NE10), Lions (2-6, 0-2 CACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game started a bit slow for Assumption offensively, as they struggled to find a rhythm and were hindered by foul trouble early on. The Lions kept their offense alive by securing offensive rebounds and getting second-chance opportunities. A Grace Leary three, a layup, and a couple of defensive stands made it close going into the second quarter, with the Greyhounds leading 12-10.

Assumption woke up in the second quarter, pressuring the Lions with their defense and quick baskets in transition. At the 2:48 mark in the first quarter, Assumption went on a 29-7 run to end the half, shooting 10-17 from the field and only allowing their opponents three field goals. Monica Spain scored nine points in the run alone to break the game open, giving the Greyhounds a 35-16 lead at the half.

The third quarter continued to be an offensive and defensive clinic for the Greyhounds. Multiple times Mieczkowski found teammates in transition for easy layups, which grew the Greyhound lead even larger. Assumption allowed just six points in the third quarter to go into the fourth with a 54-22 lead.

The Greyhounds entered this quarter on a 34-8 run in the last sixteen minutes of action. The fourth ended with the same back-and-forth action, with multiple bench players like Teagan Kamm and Kaijhe Hall getting buckets down the stretch. Assumption held out and finished the game, winning 72-29.
