HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption came out of the gates on the attack, as they outshot the hosts 28-11 in the first period.
Christopher Stalmok and Colin Montgomery both struck in the opening minute, as Stalmok scored on a breakaway, while Montgomery beat the Knights' netminder off an offensive zone faceoff. Neumann got on the board at the 2:13 marker to make it 2-1 Assumption, but just over the halfway marker, Ryan Decker pushed the lead to 3-1.
William Smith capped off the first period with a power play goal, giving the Blue and White a 4-1 lead into the intermission.
The host would slowly chip away at the deficit as they found the back of the net twice in the second period. Neumann would eventually tie the game in the final minute of the third and send the game to overtime.
In the extra session, Brady Mistler forced a turnover at the Assumption blue line and would to beat the Greyhounds' netminder on the breakaway to give Neumann the OT win.
