GARDEN City, N.Y. – Adelphi University handed the Assumption University women's volleyball team their ninth-straight loss, as the Greyhounds dropped a 3-0 Northeast-10 Conference decision on the road Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first set, the two teams traded points in the early portion of the set, but with Adelphi leading 8-7, the Panthers rattled off ten of 11 points to go up 18-8. The hosts continued to slowly pull away to win the opening set 25-14.
The second set would follow the script of the first set, as neither team could take control of the set. With the score tied at 10-10, the Panthers ran off five-straight points. Despite small runs to close the gap, Assumption could not rally and dropped the second set 25-20.
In the third set, Adelphi took control early and never looked back. The Panthers ran out to an 8-3 lead before watching it balloon to 15-6. The Greyhounds got within six (17-11), but Adelphi strung eight of ten points together to win the third set 25-13.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Alexis Distasio had a match-high seven kills.
- Sophia Noel and Marissa Krawcyzk paced the Blue and White offense as they combined for 17 assists, while Anna Dean had a team-high seven digs.
