-The Lead: The Assumption University women's soccer team dropped a tightly contested matchup on the road in NE10 action in New York vs Adelphi. The game was a defensive battle,with strong midfield play and both goalies making big saves. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

-Adelphi scored the only goal of the match with 5 minutes left in the game off a cross from Kayla Mushorn on the right side of the field and the cross found the head of Maria D'Angelo who headed it past freshman goalie Julia Walsh (San Diego, Calif.) To give the Panters a late victory. 

-Annie Irwin, Diana Bruggeman and Maya Demello accounted for the Hounds three shots on goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

-Assumption had seven shots on the day with three on target while Adelphi took 17 shots with five on target.

-Julia Walsh made four saves on the day while Sarah Hofmeier made three saves .

-Adelphi won 10 corners while the Hounds won none.
