THE BASICS:

- The Lead: Assumption earned a pair of dominant doubles victories and won five singles matches in straight sets to come away with a convincing 6-1 victory over Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In doubles, the Hounds came away with convincing wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.  The duo of  Julia Chappell (Manchester, N.H. / Manchester Central) and Maria Monje (Worcester, Mass. / Holy Name) secured a 6-1 victory in the first flight, while Camille Latoni (San Juan, P.R. / Academia Maria Reina) and Paige Benoit (Holden, Mass. / St. Peter Marian Central Catholic) earned a 6-2 win. Assumption won by default at No. 3 doubles.

- In singles, Chappell kept her singles record perfect with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1. Monje followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3, while Latoni and Ana Escudero (Rockville, Md. / Richard Montgomery) both won by 6-0, 6-0 margins. The Hounds took No. 6 singles by default to provide the 6-1 final.
