- The Lead: In a Northeast-10 non-divisional doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, the Assumption College baseball team dropped a pair of games to Le Moyne College by scores of 7-2 and 6-0 at Dick Rockwell Field.

GAME ONE
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Le Moyne jumped out to a 2-0 lead through two innings before the Hounds got on the board in the fifth as senior Colin Clancy (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) scored an unearned run. Clancy originally reached base on a single through the right side earlier in the inning.

- The Dolphins extended the advantage out to 7-1 in the eighth before the Hounds closed out the scoring in the top of the ninth. Junior Jake Byrne (Grafton, Mass./Saint John's) came home on an RBI groundout with two outs after he initially reached base on a leadoff walk.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Senior Michael Panza (West Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) was 2-for-4 in the game, while the Dolphins had two players with multiple hits. Brett Charbonneau finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored, while Pat Wright was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI.

- Senior Steve Flynn (Worcester, Mass./St. Peter-Marian) took the loss to drop to 1-5 overall and he allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings pitched. Damian Powers was the winning pitcher with an eight-inning effort as he improved to 2-2 on the season. He ended the game with five hits allowed, one run and one walk to go along with 14 strikeouts.

GAME TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In game two, Le Moyne jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first with an unearned run and the early advantage. The Dolphins took control of the game with a five-run sixth inning behind a four-hit inning as Le Moyne also took advantage of one Assumption error.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Freshman Hunter Tralli (Berlin, Conn./Northwest Catholic) was 2-for-4 in the game, while Clancy was 3-for-4 in game two. For the Dolphins, Gabe Levanti led six players with hits as he finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and one run batted in.

- Junior Tom Horstkotte (Milford, Mass./Saint John's) took the loss for the Hounds to drop to 3-2 as he went 5.2 innings with seven hits, six runs allowed and three strikeouts. Sophomore Mike Curtis (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington) and senior Kevin O'Connor (Leominster, Mass./Leominster) combined for 2.1 innings of hitless relief as O'Connor took just 12 pitches to get through the eighth inning. For Le Moyne, Zach Place improved to 3-3 with the win as he went eight innings with six hits allowed, no walks and nine strikeouts.

- Assumption is back in action on Tuesday afternoon as the Hounds are scheduled to host divisional rival Stonehill College for a 3:30 p.m. start at Rocheleau Field.
