Easton, Mass. (September 11) -- The Assumption College volleyball team kicked off its Northeast-10 Conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to Stonehill College at the Merkert Gymnasium on Tuesday night. The Greyhounds lost by set scores of 25-13, 25-23, and 25-20.

Three Greyhounds finished with six kills, Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon), Ryan Merle (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles), and Ann Donahue (Braintree, Mass./Braintree). Ostafin added five digs and a team-high 9.5 points.

Junior Kristin Flatekval (Mahwah, N.J./Immaculate Heart) dished out 23 assists for Assumption in the loss.

Assumption falls to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in Northeast-10 Conference play, dropping the Greyhounds below .500 for the first time all season. With the win, Stonehill improves to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the league.

The Greyhounds will return to action on Thursday, Sept. 13 as the team travels to Rindge, N.H. to take on Franklin Pierce University. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m.
