Easton, Mass. (September 28) – The Assumption women's volleyball team lost to Stonehill, 3-1, despite Mary Johnston (Pearland, Texas/Glenda Dawson) having 14 kills for the second consecutive match.

The Hounds jumped out to a one-set lead after taking the first set, 25-18, but dropped the final three sets. Steph Whooten (Norton, Mass./Bishop Feehan) had a game-high 22 digs for the Hounds. Freshman Bizzie Gonring (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Dominican) and Lauren Ostafin (Avon, Conn./Avon) each had seven kills.

The Hounds fell to 4-12 on the season with the loss and 0-5 in the Northeast-10. Stonehill improves to 13-2 and 2-0 in the conference.

The Hounds hit the hardwood next on Oct. 2nd when they host Pace. The match will begin at 2 p.m.
